Baby Owen's Room

One of the things Andrea was most excited about when we decided to buy our home was that she would be free to design and decorate however she wanted (as you can see in photos in previous posts). The Baby's room is pretty much finished (minus a few minor details). Isn't she creative? Andrea made the curtains and bedding for the crib, and she painted the painting of the cute jungle animals. The wallpaper mural was a pain to put up, but was worth the effort. Now we just have to wait for the baby to come along!

Una de las cosas que tenia mas emocionada a Andrea cuando decidimos comprar una casa , era que podia disenar y decorar la casa como ella quisiera (como pudieron ver en un fotos antiguas). El cuarto del bebe esta casi terminado(falta algunos detallitos). No es ella creativa? Andrea hizo las cortinas y la ropa de cama y pinto el cuadro de los animales en la jungla.El papel mural fue una pesadilla ponerlo , pero valio la pena. Ahora solo estamos esperando que el bebe llegue!

Baby Shower

My friend Chablis threw a baby shower for me last Saturday. She did a jungle theme, which is the same as the theme we used in the baby's room. The decorations were very cute; Chablis is a great decorator and party planner. It was so nice of her to host the baby shower, and it was a lot of fun. Thanks so much to Chablis and everyone for their support and gifts; we have a lot of adorable clothes for the baby now.

Mi amiga Chablis organizo mi baby shower el sabado que paso. El tema era la jungla, el cual es el mismo tema que usamos para la decoracion del cuarto del bebe. Las decoraciones eran hermosas ; Chablis es una gran decoradora y planificadora de fiestas. Fue muy tierno de su parte organizar todo , y fue muy divertido. Muchas gracias Chablis y a todos por su apoyo y regalos ; tenemos un monton de ropita muy linda para nuestro bebe ahora.

Happy Halloween!!!

We had a great Halloween this year. Yesterday morning we carved the pumpkin together. Chloe liked watching and drawing on it, but didn't want to touch the yucky stuff. In the evening we went to the Halloween party at the church, and Chloe had fun playing games and seeing the other kids in their costumes. Chloe was a Cherry Fairy (isn't she cute?) After the party Adam took her trick or treating on our street. At the first house a man with a scary mask answered the door, and Chloe was pretty terrified, but once she realized everyone was giving her candy, she got pretty excited. At each door she said "candy, candy! thank you! Bye bye, see you soon" . Today we made the Jack-O-Lantern into a yummy pumpkin soup.

Tuvimos un fantastico Halloween este ano. Ayer en la manana hicimos nuestra calabaza. Chloe disfruto mirando y dibujando en la calabaza, Pero no quiso tocar nada de lo que sacamos de adentro. En la tarde fuimos a la fiesta de Halloween en la iglesia, Chloe se divirtio muchisimo jugando y viendo a los otros ninos disfrazados . Disfrasamos a Chloe de ada (diganme que no se ve rica?) Despues de la fiesta Adam llevo a Chloe a pedir dulces en nuestra calle . En la primera casa que tocaron un hombre con una mascara abrio la puerta , Chloe se asusto muchisimo,pero una vez que se dio cuenta que le darian dulces estaba super emocionada y feliz. En cada puerta ella decia: "Dulce, dulce! Gracias! Adios, Nos vemos pronto" . Hoy cocinamos nuestra calabaza y la hicimos una rica sopa.

Flattop Mountain

Last Saturday was a gorgeous day and we decided to go for a walk at flattop mountain. We enjoyed the views and Chloe had fun walking a lot by herself.

El sabado pasado fue un dia hermoso, asi que decidimos salir a caminar a un lugar llamado flattop mountain. Disfrutamos mucho de los paisajes y Chloe se divirtio mucho caminando sola por todas partes.

Let's Go Mommy

A few days ago Chloe put on her boots, gloves, winter hat, and her backpack and said "Car, car, go Mommy!" I guess she was pretty bored of being in the house. She looked pretty funny, and she didn't want to take off her winter clothes for the rest of the day. Doesn't she look like a big girl?

Algunos dias atras Chloe se puso sus botas, guantes, gorro y su mochila y dijo: Auto, auto, vamos mami!!! Supongo que estaba super aburrida de estar en la casa. Se veia tan chistosa y rica, no se quiso sacar su ropa de invierno por el resto del dia. Se ve tan grande en estas fotos

Our New House/ Nuestra Casa Nueva

We're now proud homeowners, and after lots of painting, decorating, and rearranging it's starting to feel like home. We're not quite finished unpacking, but we finally unpacked the camera cable so we could post photos of the house. There's no grass yet, but we finally had the back yard fenced in so Sophie has a place to run around.

Despues de pintar mucho, decorar y ordenar finalmente se empieza a sentir como un hogar. No hemos terminado de empacar aun, pero pudimos encontrar el cable de la camara para poder descargar algunas fotos de la casa. Aun no tenemos pasto, pero finalmente pusieron la reja del patio y Sophie puede correr por el.

Alaska State Fair/ Feria de Alaska

Last saturday we went to the Alaska state fair. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun, especially Chloe, who loved looking at farm animals and going on rides.

El sabado pasado fuimos a la feria del estado.Era un dia hermoso y fue super divertido. La que mejor lo paso fue Chloe, a ella le facinan los animales de granja y le encanto mirarlos y tambien subiendose a todos los juegos que podia.

Blueberry festival

Last Saturday was a gorgeous day, so we drove to Girdwood to go to the Blueberry Festival at Alyeska. There was live music, booths selling crafts, and food, including blueberry cobbler with homeade blueberry ice cream...mmm! After stopping by the festival we drove up the mountain where Adam picked a few Salmonberries. It's been a beautiful summer; too bad winter is almost here!

El sabado pasado fue un dia precioso, asi que manejamos a Girdwood para ir al festival de Blueberry(Arandanos) en Alyeska. Hubo musica en vivo, artesania y comida, tambien un rico pie de blueberry y helado casero de blueberry ...mmm! Despues del festival manejamos a la montana donde Adam recogio algunos berries. A sido un verano muy lindo , que pena que ya casi esta llegando el invierno.

My Dreaded 30th Birthday/ Mi temido Cumple numero 30

Yesterday was my 30th birthday. Adam was asking me all week how I wanted to celebrate and I always said "seriously I don't have anything to celebrate". The day before I was pretty depressed about turning 30. Well now I'm 30 and there's nothing I can do about it, but it's not so bad, Adam is almost 32 and look how sexy he is :). I feel so blessed to have a great husband, a cute daughter, a crazy dog and a baby boy on the way.

Yesterday for my birthday Adam made a yummy breakfast and we went to a nice restaurant for dinner, Adam surprised me with flowers and tickets to the Lion King (I was so excited)
Anyway, Adam I love you so much for the greatest day of my 30's so far.

Ayer fue mi cumple numero 30. Adam me estuvo preguntando toda la semana como queria celebrarlo y yo siempre decia "No tengo nada que celebrar". El dia anterior a mi cumple estaba super deprimida acerca de cumplir 30. Bueno ahora tengo 30 y no hay nada que pueda hacer al respecto, pero no es todo tan malo, Adam es casi 32 y miren lo sexy que se ve :). Me siento muy bendecida por el gran esposo que tengo, nuestra hermosa hija, mi loca perra y el bebe que viene en camino .
Ayer por mi cumple Adam me hizo un rico desayuno y fuimos a un buen restaurante para cenar, Adam me sorprendio con flores y boletos para ver el Rey Leon (Brodway Show) Adam, te amo tanto mi amor, gracias por el mejor dia de mis 30 hasta el momento.

Our Weekend in Seward with Jenny/ Nuestro Fin de semana con Jenny

Last week Jenny (Adam's cousin) came to visit us. Adam had friday off, so we drove down to Seward for a little getaway. After a few days of heavy rain, we got lucky with two beautiful, sunny days. On Friday we went on a wildlife cruise in gorgeous Resurrection Bay, where we saw humpback whales, seals, sea lions, otters, puffins, and other sea birds. Our closest animal encounter was actually after we got off the boat in the marina; we were treated by an otter swimming and eating shellfish right next to us! That night we went to a seafood restaurant with a great view, and stayed in a cabin in the woods where we made a campfire and roasted marshmallows....It wasn't exactly camping, but close enough. The next day we went to the Sea Life Center, where we saw more animals, and then we hiked to Exit Glacier. We had a lot of fun with Jenny (our first guest in Alaska!). She was a great guest, and we can't wait to have more visitors.

La semana pasada Jenny (prima de Adam) vino a visitarnos. Adam tuvo libre el viernes, asi que manejamos a Seward para turistear un poco. Despues de algunos dias de lluvia, fuimos super afortunados porque el viernes y sabado fueron hermosos. El viernes fuimos en un crucero de animales silvestres marinos en la bahia Resurrection , y vimos ballenas, focas, lobos marinos, nutrias, puffins, y otras aves marinas. Nuestro mas cercano encuentro con un animal fue despues de bajarnos del barco ; habia una nutria nadando y comiendo justo al lado de nosotros! Esa misma noche fuimos a comer a un restaurante con una vista hermosa, y nos quedamos en una cabana en el bosque, donde hicimos una fogata y quemamos marshmallows..... Al dia siguiente fuimos al centro de vida marin, donde vimos mas animales , y despues caminamos hacia un Glaciar. Lo pasamos muy bien con Jenny (nuestra primera visita en Alaska!). Ella fue una gran invitada, no podemos esperar a poder tener mas familiares y a migos con nosotros.

Picking Bluberries/ Recogiendo Arandanos

After seeing Chablis' blog we decided to copy her and go to arctic valley to pick blueberries. We had a lot of fun especially Sophie who was running and jumping all over the mountain.

Despues de ver el blog de Chablis decidimos copiarle e ir a arctic valley a recoger arandanos. Fue super divertido, especialmente para Sophie que corrio y jugo en la montana.

Mmm Tomato.../ Mmmm Tomate

A few days a go, Adam was putting away the groceries in the fridge and Chloe came and grabbed a huge tomato and ran to the living room, where she enjoyed eating almost the entire thing by herself! She was pretty messy, but she had a great time.

Algunos dias atras, Adam estaba guardando verduras en el refrigerador y Chloe vino y tomo un tomate gigante y corrio al living donde disfruto comiendo casi todo el tomate! Quedo toda sucia con el jugo del tomate , pero le encanto comerselo.

Boom Boom Chloe

Chloe loves to dance and she especially loves Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas. She sits in the computer chair and says "Boom Boom" until we show her the video on Youtube.

A Chloe le encanta bailar y especialmente ama la cancion Boom Boom Pow the los Black eyed Peas. Ella se sienta en la silla del computador y dice "Boom Boom" hasta que le mostramos el video en Youtube.

Fishing on the 4th of July/ Pescando el 4 de Julio

On the 4th of July Adam met his boss and his wife at 2am to go fishing for red salmon on the Kenai river. He was very hopeful, but he didn't have beginner's luck: the Stralkas caught 9 fish and Adam got none :( he still had a good time learning how to fish for salmon and enjoying the beautiful weather. He didn't come home empty handed; the Stralkas gave him 3 fish to take home wish we really enjoyed eating.

El 4 de Julio Adam se junto con su jefe y su esposa a las 2 de la madrugada para ir a pescar salmones en el rio de Kenai. El fue super esperanzado de pescar algo, pero no tuvo suerte de principiante, en cambio sus jefes pescaron 9 salmones y Adam nada. En todo caso lo paso super bien y tuvo un buen tiempo aprendiendo a pescar salmones y disfrutando del hermoso clima que tenemos ahora. Lo bueno es que no llego con las manos vacias, los Stralkas (apellido de su jefe) le dieron 3 salmones para traer a casa, los cuales hemos difrutado comiendo.

Chloe loves excitement and she is not afraid of a little danger. She is very determined and persistent when she wants something nothing can stop her...

A Chloe le encantan las emociones fuertes y un poquito de peligro en todo lo que hace. Ella es super persistente y determinada, cuando se le mete algo en la cabeza nada puede pararla...

Yard Work/ Trabajando en el Jardin

Chloe loves to help Mommy and Daddy do yard work...She always likes to help around the house no matter how hard the job is.

A Chloe le encanta ayudar a Mami y a Papi en el jardin... A chloe siempre le gusta ayudar en los que haceres de la casa no importa cuan dificil sea.

Father's Day/ Dia del Padre

We had an amazing day!!! Adam is always the king of the house so on father's day we finally gave him a crown... Adam is a such a great Daddy and I'm so grateful that he is the father of my babies...We love you so much :)

Tuvimos un dia maravilloso!!! Adam es siempre el rey de la casa entonces en el dia del Padre lo coronamos... Adames un padre maravilloso y estoy muy agradecida por tener la bendicion de que seas el padre de mis hijos...Te amamos mucho :)
